Sony Smart Android TV can now do Alexa voice command


In the field of Artificial Intelligence Amazon’s Alexa play a Huge role than the Google Assistant as a result, Amazon Alexa is preferred more than Google Assistant.

Sony revealed that their 4K Android TVs will now support voice commands with Alexa. And we are talking full command range here. So you simply won’t need the remote here, once you have set it up. you can easily use your voice to control the smart tv.

Although the feature is limited to the UnitedStates right now, a total of 15 XBR models from 2017 and eight models from last year are only compatible. The Sony TV’s will get the update automatically from the server, and then it will support both the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot.



The range of commands includes turning the TV on and off, changing the volume as well as changing input methods and also record shows just with the voice. First, you’ll have to setup the Android TV skill with the Alexa app. you need to simply pair up your smart Tv with the Amazon Alexa. After the pairing process, you need to apply all the voice functions you need to apply in order to control the device.

After all the steps are done you will be able to use your voice to change to turn the TV on and off, changing the volume as well as changing input methods and also record shows just with the voice.

In my Opinion, it is a very smart move by Sony to include Voice Skills to control your Tv, though it is not available on all smart Tv’s we can expect that different brands will include this feature on their smart TVs.
