How to Change Font on Android

If you have been using a Smartphone Powered by Android OS for a long time, then you must be bored of watching the same style of font every time and everyday. The default font for Android is pretty good and easier to read.

Changing your Font is Fun and it Also makes your smartphone more beautiful and professional. So if you are thinking of how to change the font, you can easily do it with some basic apps. There use to be built-in option for changing the font in most Android Smartphone. You can choose to use system font or manually downloaded fonts on Android Smartphone.

There are two ways to change fonts on your device. The first one is to use the system’s default option to change fonts, that of course, does not require your device to be rooted.

  • Navigate to Your Android phone Settings 
  • Click on personalized Settings

  • There you will see Font Size and Font Style 
  • Click on Font Style
  • On the Next Page Chose Your Desired Font

  • Preview the font. 

  • Click on use Font. 

  • Your Android Smartphone font style will change immediately. 
  • Enjoy your New Font Style



The second way is to use a root-only app that does the task for you. So depending on the root status of your device, choose one of the ways below accordingly.


Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems. As Android uses the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative (superuser) permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OS X. It ‘s easy to change font on Android using iFont App. Check it out below and follow the steps

Step 1. You have to root your android device.

Step 2. Download and install iFont application.

Step 3. Open the iFont App. Backup your Default Font to Avoid Future Regrets.

Step 4. In the iFont App you will get a list of available fonts for your Android device.

  • choose your desired font 
  • Preview and click on Download font

  • Click on Set Font

  • The next screen will request for root permission. Grant iFont Root permission 
  • Allow your Device to Automatically Reboot 

  • After a successful reboot. Enjoy your new font style
