How to Send and Receive Money on Skype with PayPal

Few months ago, google introduced a feature to Gmail users which makes it possible for them to send and receive money using the official Gmail App. Now Skype have decided to follow the step and  introduced a feature that allows users to send and receive money on Skype with PayPal.


Skype has just worked out a new relationship with PayPal which now makes it possible for Skype users to send and receive money directly from the app with the use of PayPal payment service.

This new feature is now available to all Skype users on both Android and iOS platform and at the moment, you can only get to use this service in 22 countries which are:

  1. United States of America,
  2. Canada, UK (Jersey, 
  3. Guernsey, 
  4. Isle of Man, 
  5. Austria, 
  6. Belgium, 
  7. Cyprus, 
  8. Estonia, 
  9. Finland, 
  10. France, 
  11. Germany, 
  12. Greece, 
  13. Ireland, 
  14. Italy, 
  15. Latvia, 
  16. Luxembourg, 
  17. Malta, 
  18. Netherlands, 
  19. Portugal, 
  20. San Marino, 
  21. Slovakia, Slovenia, and 
  22. Spain

To use this service, you will need to confirm your location within the Skype app after which you will be asked to link your PayPal account to your Skype. Note that before you can be able to send money with this new feature, you must be using the latest Skype version.

How to Send and Receive Money through Skype:


  • Kindly Update your Skype to the latest version
  • While you are in conversation with a person, 
  • Select the Find option at the top bar 
  • Choose Send money 
  • Choose the amount of money 
  • Confirm the payment

NOTE: that this new feature can only be used to send money to family and friends and not to make payments for goods and service.
